Brian Davis Lyles
Brian is accomplished in copywriting, corporate communications, journalism, marketing, fundraising and media. He has served publishers, associations, health care institutions, historic buildings, museums and other cultural organizations.
Brian’s career history includes Direct Marketing and Promotion duties at Baltimore Magazine, Editor of the Baltimore Engineer magazine, Manager of Publications and Marketing for The Engineering Society of Baltimore, Director of Development & Marketing at the Baltimore Museum of Industry, Deputy Director of Individual Giving at Baltimore Center Stage, and Director of Development for the Chesapeake Shakespeare Company.
For over 10 years Brian worked in health care, serving as Grants Manager at Children’s National Hospital in Washington, DC, Manager of Corporate & Foundation Relations for the Neurogenomics Division of TGen (the Translational Genomics Research Institute) in Phoenix, Arizona, Director of Corporate Communications at Genesis HealthCare, and Grants Manager and Director of Communications at People’s Community Health Centers. Most recently in health care, Brian worked for SeKON Enterprise, a leading federal health care IT and management services contractor in the Washington, DC area, serving as Senior Communications Specialist for projects at the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS), the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and more.
In addition to his career and personal achievements in the literary, visual and performing arts, Brian is active in community affairs… He is a board member and past Board Chair of the CityLit Project, an award-winning literary organization based in Baltimore. He has also served as President and Board Chair of the Baltimore Office of Promotion and The Arts (BOPA), his hometown’s quasi-government agency that serves as the city's arts council, events producer and film office. (For five months he served as BOPA’s Interim CEO.)
